Online DVD Movie Rentals

I have to watch The Kite Runner for a class by Monday. I just ordered the movie on Netflix. I tried getting it at Blockbuster, but every single copy was sold out. Can I expect for it to arrive at my apartment complex tomorrow? Or will I have to wait until Saturday? Does anybody know how Netflix works?
